Rhythm

Every rhythm has a dance and a story behind it which gives an insight into the culture and daily life of West Africa. Our work addresses the growing requirements of educators and community groups to provide meaningful cultural education for children and young people.
Education
Batafon Arts educational workshops are geared to meet the individual needs of the school or group. Our work fulfils several of the National Curriculum Key Stages.
Learning
Through a learning environment which is both fun and instructive, Batafon Arts brings to life crucial issues relating to race relations and cultural diversity.
Community groups
We also do workshops for community groups, events, festivals and business.
Research shows African drumming can improve health and well-being. Everyone benefits from our inclusive and lively workshops.
Flexible
Our workshops are flexible in order to respond to the different abilities and ages of children and young people, and have a successful record of working with those with special needs.
Facilitators
All are facilitators are from West Africa. Each is an accomplished musician and/or dancer in the West African tradition, and our aim is to bring the cultural background into the school environment.
